With the 50th anniversary celebrations, Disney World is going through some major changes. The replacement of FastPass has become one of the biggest transformations against the Genie program. Here, we will find out about the new Disney pay per ride option with Genie+
Genie+ visitors can now pay $15 for one ticket per day to reserve their spot in Lightning Lanes. It allows guests to skip the standby line and get to their favourite rides quicker!
Other rides will charge an additional fee that needs to be paid individually if guests wish to skip lines. However, there is a big change to look forward to!
Four Disney pay per ride available with Genie+ for holidays
From December 19, 2021, until January 3, 2022, some of the Disney World rides that were previously a part of the pay-per-ride will be a part of Genie+
These rides include:
- Space Mountain located in the Magic Kingdom
- Frozen Ever After located in EPCOT
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway located at the Hollywood Studios
- Expedition Everest located at the Animal Kingdom

So, guests now avail of one more ride at each Disney World venue under the Genie program!
These rides needed an extra fee for timesavers who wished to skip the line. However, these will be a part of Genie+, for which you need to pay $15 for the day you visit! Simply reserve your rides with Lightning Lanes without additional costs.
Note that there will not be an option for separate payment for skipping lines for these attractions. Thus, if you do not avail of the Genie+ you will have to wait for your turn in the queue.
Some more pay-per-ride attractions that you can avail with Genie+ includes:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- Flight of Passage
- Rise of the Resistance
For these, you can pay an extra fee to not wait in line if you do not have Genie+.
What is the new rule for Extended Evening Hours?
A few weeks backs, Disney announced replacing the Extra Magic Hours with new advantages exclusive for the guests of Disney World Resort. These now come in the form of Early Theme Party Entry and Extended Evening Hours.
So, Early Theme Park Entry is an advantage for hotel guests to get 30 minutes of extra time every morning to be a part of all Disney World parks. At the same time, the rest of the Disney World Park hoppers get to enter at the standard opening timing. The facility has been offered for a limited time.
Recently, Disney announced that this limited time facility for hotel guests will be extended to 60 minutes instead of 30. Thus, from December 19, 2021, to January 3, 2022, hotel guests can start exploring Disney World parks 1 hour before others can!
The Extended Evening Hours remain the same as announced previously. However, one must note that this facility is only for guests staying at Disney World Deluxe Resorts and Villas!
The Early Theme Park Entry will go back to 30 minutes of extended time after January 3, 2022.
