Disney World Things to Do That Ends With 2021

Change is the only constant at Disney World! As the 50th-anniversary celebrations introduce us to new offerings now and then, many activities are disappearing too! Here we will discuss some Disney World things to do in 2021, which we cannot experience next year.

Disney World things to do 2021 and replacements

The below list gives you an insight into all the things that will be permanently discontinued after 2021:

1. Happily Ever After

On July 4, American Independence Day, fireworks display brightened Disney World after one year of suspension due to COVID-19. However, people had a very sleek opportunity to see those fireworks.

It will be the same case for the Happily Ever After display. The event last took place in September and will not show again. However, the all-new Disney Enchantment fireworks are bigger, better, and worth looking out for!

2.  EPCOT Forever

September 2021 marked the end of EPCOT Forever. The show was first introduced in 2019. If you haven’t been a part of this, you can look out for the replacement of Illuminations.

EPCOT Forever was frequent till Disney World closed down for the pandemic. It was next introduced in July 2021. Currently, you have to experience Harmonious, which is here to stay throughout the anniversary celebrations and beyond!

3. Old Jungle Cruise

The Old Jungle Cruise is still present and it will remain. But you can say that it has a fresh touch for all the right reasons!

The ride was extensively transformed in both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom to remove culturally inappropriate elements. When you ride this the next time, spot the changes!

4. Spaceship Earth

A special nighttime experience includes Beacons of Magic. It is present across all four parks to mark the celebrations of Disney 50 years. Each park has unique lighting packages that will remain intact through 18 months.

However, the Spaceship Earth present in EPCOT has gone through a complete transformation. The sphere now has several light points that glow every night and offer colorful projections.

5. The Wave

The Wave was a dining option present at the Contemporary Resort. It has now been replaced by a new one to mark the Disney World anniversary.

The first floor of the resort now has Steakhouse 71, created in honor of Disney’s special classic American food! There are separate menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Since this place is a mere walk away from the Magic Kingdom, it is easily accessible.

6. Future World

If you have been to EPCOT recently, you would have noticed that the park is going through a major transformation. You will not have access to Future World anymore. It is now newly themed with three neighborhoods, including World Nature, World Discovery, and World Celebration.

7. Magical Express ride

Disney World plans to discontinue the Magical Express ride guests used to avail as a form of transportation. From 2022, anyone booking with Disney resorts needs to arrange their transportation or pay the resort for pickups and drops.

The Disney World resorts will give guests several options to choose from, including rental cars and paid shuttles. There will also be a high-speed train built within a few years to make the resorts more accessible. However, all these services will charge unlike free transportation available now.
